For 20 + years we have worked to influence social mobility, social inclusion & help mitigate climate change on our doorstep. We turn a unwanted material into profit, which in turn provides jobs, training and opportunities for people furthest down the ladder.
We save almost 350,000L of paint from landfill every year
We volunteered almost 4,700 hours in 2023 alone
We’ve mixed over 2,000 custom colours for our customers so far
We’ve been running for 20 years, why not be a part of the next 20?
The diversion of waste paint from landfill or incineration has the greatest environmental impact, with its associated effect in reducing CO2 emissions. On average we divert 350,000 litres or 490 tonnes each year. This is the equivalent of enough paint to fill 6 average size swimming pools or the weight of 98 male elephants.
Care and support of anyone who works, volunteers, shops or collaborates with Seagulls is a guiding value. No one is left behind and everyone is part of the Seagulls team. Whilst delivery against outcomes is our driving force, people are the beating heart of our business.
We delve into our social and environmental purpose along with our economic impact. The total value is just under £1 million. We are very proud of this achievement and want to take this opportunity to thank our team, advisors, Board members and of course our customers.
Seagulls have worked tirelessly to ensure a market rate collection fee for the paint collected from household waste sites. Our service is a comparable price to a commercial waste producer but with the added benefits of maximum reuse and recycling.
Our discounted paint prices allow money to be recirculated within the local economy that would otherwise be absorbed by higher priced alternatives.
Through the power of paint, Seagulls offers employment to those who would find jobs hard to come by, often recruiting staff after a period of volunteering. To give people the opportunity to improve personal living space by making paint more accessible to those unable or unwilling to meet the high price of decorating materials. In doing so, Seagulls aim to positively impact the self-esteem and general mental health of our customers.
Rescued from landfill, checked and mixed by humans and ready to use.
We work with manufacturers to bring you new paint at outstanding prices.
Paint brushes, rollers, tapes… you need to paint, we’ve got the gear.
